Objectives

The specific objectives of publishing this Journal are:

• Dissemination of network research output at local, regional and international levels
• Assisting network members to disseminate their scientific work related to network research activities and topics
• Provide a forum for debate and create a dialogue among water researchers and professionals to exchange knowledge and experience in the area of specialization of the NBCBN
• Enhance conducting research in River and Hydraulics Engineering field
• Raising awareness of the Nile Basin countries on the scientific and technical resources available in the basin in the field of river engineering
• Focusing on young researchers from the basin to enhance their research skills through publications
• Contribute to the advancement of scientific research in River and Hydraulic Engineering within the context of sustainable development

Scope

The main topics covered by the Journal are directly related to the NBCBN research fields, being:

1. GIS and modeling applications in river engineering
2. River morphology
3. Flood management
4. Environmental aspects of river engineering
5. River structures
6. Hydropower development

In addition to these topics the output of the multi-disciplinary research modalities running under the NBCBN network will also be covered:

• (i) Impact of climate change on water systems, and
• (ii) Management of water scarcity

The Journal is open for publications  presenting the outputs of the research activities related to the water resources development in the Nile basin elaborated by the network members
